About the position

The Staff Structural Engineer will be an integral part of project teams, responsible for creating innovative designs for a diverse range of projects including power, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. This role involves collaborating with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring that structural plans meet budgetary constraints and client specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects including power plants and healthcare facilities.
  • Design structural components based on project needs and requirements set by project managers.
  • Apply knowledge of structural engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to ensure corrections are made using CAD software.
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program with 3 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam with 3 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering with 2 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, Tekla).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
