About the position

The Staff System & Infrastructure Engineer in Information Security is responsible for assessing and addressing gaps between business expectations and existing solutions, contributing to architectural design, coding, infrastructure maintenance, and technology solution automation. This role requires a strong focus on security, performance, and compliance while ensuring that systems are designed to be modular, extensible, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Assess gaps and updates between customer expectations and existing products/solutions.
  • Classify requirements into applicable types and anticipate solution risks during the requirements gathering phase.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories for components/applications in an agile environment.
  • Assist in decomposing product architecture into components and define architectural specifications.
  • Create and apply the right architectural patterns across modules as indicated in the architectural plan.
  • Define architecture blueprints for various components within a product/solution.
  • Analyze system performance for non-functional requirements like reliability and security.
  • Create modular and functional designs adhering to requirements for multiple systems.
  • Develop detailed designs for entire systems within a domain.
  • Conduct reviews of platform/system design to ensure adherence to security and compliance norms.
  • Create/configure minimalistic code for components/applications to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Assist in selecting appropriate languages and development standards for software coding/configuration.
  • Build scripts for automation of repetitive tasks in CI/CD and testing processes.
  • Implement telemetry features as required and ensure security policy requirements are applied during code development.
  • Plan for infrastructure updates, expansions, and enhancements.
  • Investigate server errors and test security systems periodically.
  • Regularly audit firewall logs and optimize device configurations.
  • Monitor and assess the resolution of escalated issues and issue non-compliance when necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on deployments and processes to minimize runbooks by automation.
  • Right-size IT resources to meet current and future business requirements and create a capacity plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in systems and infrastructure engineering, or 6 years of experience in related fields.
  • Experience with designing and implementing tools frameworks.
  • Experience implementing infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs into automation frameworks.
  • Experience with next-generation data center architectures and migration planning.
  • Experience enforcing security policies using solutions like Symantec DLP and Cisco ISE.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub.
  • Experience configuring hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience performing audits and assessments of network and security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programming languages like Python.
  • Experience automating configuration management using Ansible.
  • Experience with tools like Solar Wind, Cisco Prime, and Splunk.
  • Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
