About the position

The Staff Systems Engineer - Data Center Engineered to Order (ETO) products at Carrier plays a strategic leadership role in the development of advanced chiller systems specifically designed for data center applications. This position involves providing expert guidance in the design, analysis, and optimization of chiller systems to ensure maximum efficiency and performance. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations and adhere to industry standards, while also driving innovation in sustainable cooling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact data center ETO projects, involving the selection and modeling, redesign of chiller systems, driving technical innovation and ensure product excellence
  • Oversee complex thermal analysis and simulations to assess system performance under various operating conditions, make high-level recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project requirements, set technical direction, and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Work with ETO engineering project manager and design team to develop, review, and release designs for production
  • Drive testing and validation processes, analyze complex test data, and implement advanced design enhancements for long-term product success
  • Advance industry innovation, stay at the forefront of trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering
  • Contribute to Carrier's long-term vision and maintain our leadership in the market

Requirements

  • Bachelors in engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in vapor compression systems engineering

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or thermal engineering
  • Thermodynamic cycle analysis, advanced modeling, and system optimization use custom-developed and commercially available software
  • Lead large-scale product development efforts from concept through production
