About the position

The Systems Engineer at BD is responsible for leading systems engineering efforts throughout the product life cycle, translating customer and stakeholder needs into system and product requirements. This role involves assessing risks, developing specifications for hardware and software products, and supporting product verification and validation. The engineer will also drive continuous improvement initiatives and serve as a technical leader within project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead system/product-level feasibility and risk assessments.
• Coordinate system-level product development across hardware and software integration.
• Examine system behavior issues and facilitate resolutions for on-market products.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive related efforts.
• Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies on all projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering; a postgraduate degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of related work experience, combining work experience and advanced degrees.
• Strong technical background in Systems Engineering and medical device development.
• Experience with systems integration, testing, and architectural planning.
• Familiarity with Reliability Engineering, Project Management, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working within an agile environment.
• Knowledge of statistical test design and analysis or Critical Parameter Management.
