About the position

The Staff Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman will lead the development of new technologies within the Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) team, focusing on innovative supercomputing technologies. This role involves managing the program lifecycle, ensuring technical compliance, and coordinating across various teams to maintain the integrity of the program's technical baseline.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the program lifecycle, including major program milestones and reviews.
  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
  • Manage vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle.
  • Collect, manage, and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
  • Manage risk and opportunity and track core engineering work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule.
  • Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML) experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle with a focus on SRR to CDR.
  • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
  • Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test.
  • U.S. citizenship with Active DoD TS/SCI with poly security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.
  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).
  • Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.
  • Experience managing contracts of $10M+.
