About The Position

The Staff Systems Engineer (Technical Lead) at Northrop Grumman will be responsible for leading mission engineering efforts for the RQ-4 Enterprise. This role involves capturing stakeholder needs, defining mission requirements, and ensuring system architecture aligns with customer objectives. The position requires collaboration across various business areas and includes travel to support operational missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 12 years' engineering experience; 10 years with a Master's; 8 years with a PhD.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret.
  • Experience supporting Fielded Aircraft Systems.
  • Experience with UAV systems.
  • Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including design reviews and requirements verification.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience in SIL and operational environments.
  • Experience in ICD development and integration.
  • Experience with ground segment architecture and design.

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with NATO/international customers.
  • Experience with NATO ground segment architecture.
  • Experience with RQ-4 air vehicle and support equipment.
  • Experience in Tasking, Collecting, Planning, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the RQ-4 NATO Enterprise focal point for Mission Engineering.
  • Capture and translate the intent of stakeholders' mission needs.
  • Clearly define and refine end users' needs and desired capabilities.
  • Develop OPSCON to demonstrate required functions for users' concept of operations (CONOPS).
  • Feed OPSCON, CONOPS, and Use Cases back into the development lifecycle to define system requirements and architecture.
  • Ensure system architecture, operations concepts, and design are affordable, effective, and responsive to customer needs.
  • Utilize operational experience and system knowledge to create innovative solutions.
  • Support development and validation of system level models for concept development, design, verification, and validation.
  • Coordinate cross-business area improvements to address operator concerns and operational issues.
  • Conduct out briefs and coordination with customers on operational challenges.
  • Lead team coordination with engineering IPTs to minimize technical risk.
  • Provide direct input into roadmap planning across the enterprise.
