About the position

The Staff Software Engineer, TLM will lead a team within Aurora's Cloud team, focusing on the automated deployment of applications to secure production environments. This role involves building developer-facing tooling and infrastructure to enhance developer experience and improve development velocity. The engineer will also define and document best practices for scalable and secure service development, collaborating with various teams to gather requirements and drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team responsible for automated deployment of applications to secure production environments.
• Build developer-facing tooling and infrastructure that enhances developer happiness and improves development velocity.
• Define, document, and build 'golden paths' for teams to build services in a scalable and secure way.
• Collaborate with teams across the company to gather requirements and drive projects forward.

Requirements

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience shipping commercial products and services, preferably in Go.
• Experience designing and implementing services in Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools like ArgoCD and Spinnaker.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, including building custom controllers and/or operators to solve automation problems.
• Experience leading a small team of infrastructure engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred).
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform.
• Managed ingress solutions (Ambassador, Envoy, Istio, etc.).
• Experience with Developer Platforms at mid-size or larger organizations.
• Experience in the AV industry.
