About the position

The Staff Tech, Security position at Collins Aerospace is responsible for coordinating and enforcing security policies and procedures in compliance with the Department of Defense (DoD) National Industrial Security Program. The role focuses on managing classified materials, ensuring accountability, and supporting security awareness programs. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial security policies and effective communication skills to interact with various personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Assistant FSO (AFSO) in maintaining accountability and control of classified material.
  • Help develop and implement security procedures for classified material management.
  • Control all DoD GSA approved secure containers.
  • Assist in maintaining security awareness programs.
  • Support the shipment, receipt, accountability, and destruction of classified materials.
  • Coordinate and conduct annual self-inspections and inventories of classified materials.
  • Verify identification, clearance level, and need-to-know for individuals requesting access to classified material.
  • Provide professional support and customer service to coworkers and customers.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Typically requires a High School Diploma or AA/AS degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a Top-Secret Government Security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Security policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a broad range of personnel.
