About the position

Fivetran is on a mission to simplify and enhance access to data, making it as reliable as electricity. As a Staff Technical Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in building and delivering our internal systems roadmap that supports the Lead to Cash process. This position is part of the Systems Engineering organization, which is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining the internal systems that drive our operations. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal processes, ensuring that our systems not only support but also accelerate the growth of the business. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams, including Sales, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Product, and Engineering, to gather requirements and deliver systems that provide high-quality data and scalable processes. You will be expected to understand the key technologies that drive our systems and product interactions, allowing you to guide your team effectively. Your responsibilities will include identifying opportunities and challenges within the Lead to Cash functions, prioritizing the roadmap, and ensuring that project goals and deadlines are met. You will also be responsible for stakeholder management, ensuring clear communication between your team and various business functions. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will identify opportunities for process optimization and implement enhancements to existing systems. Your analytical skills will be essential in establishing health metrics and using data-driven insights to inform prioritization decisions and report on project progress. This is a full-time position based in our Oakland, CA office, and you will be expected to contribute significantly to the success of our internal systems and the overall growth of Fivetran.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and challenges within the functions supporting Lead to Cash and write accurate product requirements.
  • Collaborate in prioritizing the roadmap, balancing new functionality with managing process/technical debt.
  • Align business vision with technical solutions, delivering a systems roadmap that aligns with business processes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and Systems Engineering teams to execute the internal systems roadmap.
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and tracking of project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Provide hands-on management of critical projects, applying expert judgment and analysis to project activities.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across various functions to define business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure a clear communication framework is in place to align expectations, progress, and feedback between teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and recommend new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging iteration on processes and tools to improve efficiency.
  • Establish and oversee the tracking of health metrics to ensure systems align with business processes.
  • Use data-driven insights to make prioritization decisions and report on the health and success of projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a technical product manager, technical program manager, or a related role.
  • Solid domain knowledge within Lead to Cash business processes and the teams that execute them.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience in writing requirements that solve complex business challenges.
  • Adept at prioritizing major initiatives and balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise-grade systems and end-to-end processes.
  • Experience in performing in-depth analysis and research to identify opportunities for system improvements.
  • Ability to translate complex details into clear, concise requirements for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum project management methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lead to Cash Systems (e.g. Salesforce, Marketo, LeanData, Ironclad, Netsuite).
  • Public company experience and understanding of system and process controls.
  • Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages and SQL.
  • Familiarity with front-end UI and backend-heavy product development.
