About the position

The Staff Technical Product Manager at GE Aviation is responsible for developing and managing a strategic roadmap for products within the Digital Thread Engineer (DTE) platform. This role involves collaboration with product line leaders and various stakeholders to ensure product features and functionality meet customer needs while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards. The position requires a deep understanding of technology, customer interactions, and agile methodologies to drive product development and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic plans for new reusable components.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of the personas utilizing the platform.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and act as an internal expert on the product and competitive landscape.
  • Interact with customers/stakeholders for VOC requirements-gathering and product feedback.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
  • Collaborate with UX in design decisions.
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborate on personas.
  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills to ensure alignment between customer, product manager, and engineering teams.
  • Own the releases and sprint backlogs for MVPs and quarterly releases.
  • Manage the backlog, continuously ordering and prioritizing to ensure readiness for sprints/iterations.
  • Accountable for product cyber compliance and regulatory remediation plans.
  • Prioritize based on understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.
  • Demonstrate strategic skills in problem decomposition and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Engage frequently with the development team to facilitate discussions and provide clarifications.
  • Translate unstructured work requests into actionable user stories and work units.
  • Partner with Development Leadership/Service Owners to ensure a healthy development process.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Agile Methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience, OR an associate's degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management or IT.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
