About the position

The Staff Technical Program Manager for Autonomous Robot Operations at DoorDash Labs will play a pivotal role in scaling and optimizing last-mile deliveries using autonomous technology. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including operations, hardware, service, software, autonomy, safety, and testing, to enhance the efficiency and safety of the robot delivery fleet. The role requires a hybrid work model, with on-site presence at the Oakland facility and occasional travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Scale the autonomous delivery fleet and associated fleet operations across multiple states.
• Work closely with operations teams in the SF Bay Area and other locations.
• Use data analytics to establish and track operational and fleet efficiency metrics.
• Initiate and drive operational and robot fleet uptime improvements.
• Manage robot fleet service and repair needs.
• Champion a culture of safety and drive safety initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships for fleet logistics, service, and repairs.
• Collaborate with team members across DoorDash Labs to resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of industry experience in technical program management, ideally in autonomy operations and/or fleet management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to use data to drive efficiency improvements.
• Ability to embrace ambiguity and organize disparate ideas into a cohesive plan.
• Working understanding of autonomy concepts and AV testing procedures.
• Familiarity with program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet/MS Project, and Google Workplace applications.
