About the position

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager for its Site Reliability TPM team, a highly visible leadership role focused on Big Data and Data Analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data-related infrastructure concepts and experience in managing technical programs. This position is pivotal in driving the strategic vision and execution of transformative initiatives in the Big Data Platform, Autonomous Fleet, and Fabric Buildout. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be passionate about solving ambiguous problems, and possess a bias towards action. They will lead multiple cross-functional technical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and operational best practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of big data and autonomous fleet technologies at LinkedIn, contributing to the success of innovative programs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the strategic roadmap for the Big Data Platform and Autonomous Fleet programs, aligning with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure program goals are in sync with the overall organizational strategy, and pivot as necessary backed by strong reasoning.
  • Provide guidance on architectural and operational dependencies to ensure the successful execution of technically complex initiatives.
  • Proactively address issues and challenges that may impact the timeline or quality of deliverables and communicate them across, including executive leadership.
  • Develop detailed program plans, ensuring that programs are executed on time and within scope, predict potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure the success of the programs.
  • Be the communication hub to enable quick decision making.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years professional experience in an engineering or technical team, managing technical programs/projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree, such as a Masters preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in technical program management, with a focus on big data platforms and autonomous fleet systems.
  • Experience delivering complex, technically challenging projects.
  • Understanding of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and autonomous fleet systems.
  • Experience with data science, machine learning, and AI technologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Presentation skills and experience briefing executive leadership.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
