About the position

The Staff Technical Program Manager at LinkedIn will lead the Compute Infrastructure program management team, focusing on delivering successful outcomes for infrastructure projects. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills to manage cross-functional and company-wide critical programs, ensuring clarity in objectives and effective communication across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clarity on product program objectives, ensuring roles and responsibilities are understood and conflicts are addressed promptly.
  • Interact with executive sponsors to identify scope and manage projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Facilitate and drive large cross-functional projects, serving multiple stakeholders within a complex organization.
  • Apply formal change management practices to ensure product programs are baselined and changes are reviewed for impact.
  • Anticipate product program risks and issues, providing resolutions to meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Effectively communicate information to diverse audiences, translating technical terminology into business terms.
  • Facilitate decisions from complex situations to keep teams and projects moving forward.
  • Establish and manage end-to-end processes for collecting and fulfilling stakeholder requirements.
  • Demonstrate data analysis expertise to develop insights and define metrics for infrastructure scaling initiatives.
  • Deliver solution design specifications and technical requirements for capacity planning tools and automation.
  • Conduct simulations to identify potential capacity issues and partner with product owners to minimize risks.
  • Build and deliver impactful presentations that convey persuasive insights.
  • Manage executive project expectations, including escalation and communication on critical projects.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Program and Product management, including feature development and Agile methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience with a track record of operating independently and delivering results.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in Kubernetes/containerization.
  • Understanding of technology-based product lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional analytic skills to translate requirements into action plans.
  • Experience leading large dynamic programs in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to earn trust and influence senior business partners.
