About the position

TEKsystems is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to support various telecommunications initiatives, focusing on operations rather than engineering. The role involves overseeing projects post-completion, providing guidance during deployment phases, and serving as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for battery support across projects. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, site surveys, design evaluations, and documentation management, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Support various telecommunications initiatives, including BAU work and project-based tasks.
• Oversee battery support across telecommunications projects.
• Troubleshoot alarms and battery/rectifier issues.
• Perform site walks and surveys to evaluate current designs.
• Update standards and SOPs for telecommunications DC power.
• Coordinate with design vendors, OEMs, and construction vendors.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as UCOMM Engineering and Project Managers.
• Own documentation within various databases and update As-Builts.
• Respond to alarms and work with engineering teams on project-based work.
• Oversee and QC builds from general contractors.
• Help create SOPs and perform training.

Requirements

• Experience with AC and DC power systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems and wireless equipment.
• Familiarity with DWDM and fiber optic networks.
• Experience with batteries and rectifiers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform design analysis.
