About the position

The Customer Service Associate position at Capitol Federal is a developmental role aimed at preparing candidates for future opportunities within the organization. Associates will be placed in available positions across various branch locations in the Kansas City metro area, requiring flexibility and adaptability based on business needs. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, processing financial transactions, and assisting customers with their banking needs.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process financial transactions for customers.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and confidential assistance to customers in the lobby, drive-thru, or by telephone.
  • Balance cashbox daily and notify supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Participate in vault duties and daily balancing when necessary.
  • Research and resolve basic customer inquiries as needed.
  • Assist customers with account maintenance as directed by management.
  • Advise customers about additional services or programs that may benefit them.
  • Update the Bank's tracking system related to customer recommendations and referrals.
  • Answer incoming calls, verify caller identity, and determine their needs.
  • Assist other departments and branches with transactions as needed.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality and comply with bank policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of six months of customer service experience, preferably with cash handling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide solutions to their inquiries.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a banking or financial services environment.
