About the position

The Staff User Researcher for the Coinbase Developer Platform will lead the UX Research function, focusing on enhancing the developer experience through comprehensive research methodologies. This role involves collaborating closely with design and product teams to drive impactful product decisions and improve usability for developer tools and products. The researcher will also empower the product team to conduct their own research, ensuring a user-centered approach in product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UX Research function for the Developer Product Group, collaborating with Design and Product teams.
• Coordinate and conduct mixed-methods research, including interviews, usability testing, concept testing, surveys, and fieldwork.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders to transform vague business needs into actionable research questions.
• Innovate ways for the team to gather feedback from developers more efficiently.
• Craft research reports to communicate findings and make impactful design and product recommendations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of user research experience, preferably in a lead role for a large product area.
• Experience scaling UXR for various stakeholders to conduct effective research.
• Experience researching developer products and tools.
• Working knowledge of general research principles and UX research principles.
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts and influence strategy.
• Experience managing project prioritization and multiple stakeholder relationships independently.
• Experience with both moderated and unmoderated testing.
• Collaborative attitude and humility.
• Interest in crypto or financial products.
