About the position

At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As a Staff UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience for our products, particularly in the realm of AI developer tooling. You will be responsible for taking complex tasks and making them intuitive and easy-to-use for billions of people around the globe. Throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes—you'll envision how people will experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical. The Google User Experience (UX) team is composed of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We care deeply about the people who use our products and play an integral part in gathering insights about the attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of users. This information inspires and informs our design decisions. As a Staff UX Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use. In this role, you will manage developer coding flow, oversee developer-facing products, and engage in creative interface/UI design. You will partner cross-functionally from early-stage concept through iteration to execution, creating wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate key ideas, user journeys, and decision points. Your ability to understand user-centered design considerations and use findings from UX research will be essential in informing your design output. You will also be responsible for communicating and articulating design intent and decisions to collaborators and teams, ensuring that the user experience is at the forefront of our product development efforts.
