About the position

The Staff Vice President of Quality Oversight & Vendor Management at Centene Corporation is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing process for externally purchased goods and services. This executive role involves managing relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement standards, and overseeing vendor risk and performance management. The position also focuses on quality assurance processes, integrating them with business and compliance requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction over the strategic sourcing process for all externally purchased goods and services.
  • Manage high-level relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
  • Develop and implement programs to manage vendor risk and performance.
  • Oversee the quality assurance process and its integration with business and compliance.
  • Drive research and analysis of strategic options and recommendations.
  • Evaluate new products, technology, and processes to enhance overall service.
  • Develop and manage strategic sourcing plans to drive quality service and cost efficiencies.
  • Implement comprehensive risk assessment processes for monitoring vendors.
  • Manage quality assurance monitoring and reporting of operational results.
  • Produce actionable data and analytics from quality assurance audits.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new quality processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of purchasing decisions with company goals and laws.
  • Oversee the development and quality of RFIs/RFPs for customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor operational aspects of vendor relationships through audits and evaluations.
  • Develop or modify audit processes to enhance quality controls in compliance risk areas.
  • Promote effective monitoring of key vendors to reduce business disruptions.
  • Manage the relationship governance process to ensure compliant operations.
  • Provide effective leadership to staff and improve work climate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.
  • Experience with internal demand/process analysis and external supply chain analysis.
  • Experience in developing benchmark performance and service levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in total system cost modeling and supply strategy selection.
  • Experience in supplier selection and integration.
