About the position

As a Staff Visual Product Designer at Crunchyroll, you will be responsible for providing a visual refresh and evolving the Crunchyroll app experience across mobile, web, and TV platforms. This role aims to enhance user experiences and delight anime fans by collaborating with a team of designers, user researchers, product managers, and engineers to implement iterative improvements and new features. You will oversee projects from concept to production, ensuring user goals are met while providing constructive feedback to your team. Your designs will reflect a deep understanding of the industry and empathy for users, ultimately creating elegant and functional solutions that enhance the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visual refresh and evolve the Crunchyroll app experience across mobile, web, and TV.
• Collaborate with user researchers, product management, and engineers to improve user experiences.
• Define and bring projects from concept to production, ensuring user goals are represented.
• Handle the review process within the design department and with partner teams.
• Provide constructive input to the designs of other designers on your team.
• Create solutions that provide users with an outstanding user experience.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional visual design experience
• Strong visual capabilities and a wide range of styles
• Experience with brand and identity work
• Proficiency in design programs like Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
• Demonstrate a user-centered approach and empathy for end-users
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Adept collaborator working with teams
• Experience designing visual design language for UI
• Understanding of anime fandom or similar fandom.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong illustration capabilities
• Experience designing UI for TV devices
• Experience working in the streaming or entertainment industry
• Experience with prototyping.
