About the position

City National Bank is seeking a consultant to join an enterprise-wide project team focused on executing regulatory-required staffing and skills assessments. This role is crucial in identifying labor demand and supply gaps, as well as skill gaps across the bank. The consultant will be responsible for developing a resourcing and hiring plan to address these gaps. The position requires strong facilitation skills, as the consultant will work closely with Executive and Senior leaders to guide and challenge staffing and skills assessment decisions. The work will primarily be conducted remotely using Microsoft Teams, emphasizing the need for effective communication and collaboration with management teams. The consultant will engage in various core sub-processes, including preparing Excel or Smartsheet workbooks for data collection, scheduling and coordinating workshops, and developing materials such as job aids and training designs. A consultative, data-driven approach is essential, as the consultant will help leaders focus on relevant questions to respond to regulatory requirements. Building ownership among management for decisions and mitigation plans is a key responsibility, along with encouraging timely execution and escalating any delays to the project manager. In addition to facilitating processes, the consultant will oversee periodic updates on progress against committed action plans and may need to adapt materials for continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to build trusted relationships with managers and key partners across the organization, ensuring effective leadership and execution of staffing assessments. The consultant will also document work as evidence of completion of process steps and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight once onboarded and trained.
