The Staffing Coordinator for Network Operations at HonorHealth plays a crucial role in supporting the activities centrally managed within the Network Operations Center. The coordinator utilizes automated systems to optimize capacity and staffing management, ensuring that staffing and scheduling needs are met while facilitating patient placement and managing the logistics of incoming and outgoing transfers. In this role, the Staffing Coordinator processes daily worksheets to reflect available staff across all nursing units and plans staffing needs for future shifts. Collaborating with Administrative Representatives at each facility, the coordinator applies knowledge of different modes of patient care delivery to appropriately schedule and assign staff to nursing units. Effective communication with other hospital campuses is essential to ensure the efficient usage of resources. The coordinator manages requests for patient transfers and direct admissions, accurately collecting necessary data for patient intake from various sources while adhering to governing regulations and policies. This role also involves coordinating provider-to-provider calls and documenting acceptance calls accurately. Critical thinking and established process flows are employed to assess and facilitate patient movement across multiple facilities. Proactive collaboration with the Transfer Center, registration, nursing staff, and physicians is vital for proper bed placement, ensuring that beds are assigned according to diagnosis, physician requests, and hospital policies while avoiding federal non-compliance and penalties. The Staffing Coordinator effectively operates electronic systems and technology to optimize patient flow logistics, capacity management, and staffing and scheduling, all while maintaining confidentiality of information. Additionally, the coordinator may receive and record absent calls, notifying the appropriate unit and documenting staff time changes on schedules via the computer system. Flexibility and adaptability are key traits, as organizational needs may change throughout the shift.
