About the position
The Staffing Coordinator (Non Nurse) is responsible for managing the daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for nursing staff at Life Care Center of Rochester. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards while maintaining effective communication and professional relationships within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Schedule facility staff according to levels determined by the Director of Nursing (DON) or Executive Director (ED).
- Prepare and communicate all shift schedules clearly to staff.
- Understand and adhere to state requirements and forecasting for staffing needs.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
- Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance.
- Utilize reasoning skills and good judgment in decision-making processes.
- Communicate effectively and function productively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in staff scheduling within a healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Functional knowledge in the field of practice is required.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of practices and procedures governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
- Experience in implementing and interpreting departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
