About the position

The Stage Manager for the National Tour with StarQuest Dance Competition is a dynamic role that combines leadership, logistical management, and guest experience enhancement. This position is not typical for a Stage Manager, as it involves physically demanding tasks, managing local crews, and creating a fun and organized backstage environment for a large cast of performers. The Stage Manager will work closely with Event Directors to ensure seamless execution of live, unscripted shows while maintaining a positive atmosphere even under pressure. This role requires a proactive approach to scheduling and event management, with responsibilities extending beyond show days.

Responsibilities

• Manage load-ins and load-outs of equipment and performers.
• Create a fun and organized backstage environment for performers.
• Lead and manage local crew effectively during events.
• Work closely with Event Directors to ensure smooth show operations.
• Develop schedules for events 3-4 weeks in advance.
• Maintain a positive attitude and high energy during performances.
• Problem-solve logistical challenges in real-time during events.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a leadership role within the performing arts or event management.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with crew and performers.
• Impeccable logistical and problem-solving skills.
• Mastery of time management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to physically handle heavy equipment and perform load-ins and load-outs.
• Experience working long hours with little to no sleep.
