About the position

The Stage Manager for the National Tour at StarQuest Dance Competition is a dynamic role that combines leadership, logistical management, and guest experience enhancement. This position is not typical for a Stage Manager, as it involves physically demanding tasks, managing local crews, and creating a fun and efficient backstage environment for a large cast of performers. The Stage Manager will work closely with Event Directors to ensure seamless execution of live, unscripted shows while maintaining a positive atmosphere even under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage load-ins and load-outs of equipment and materials.
• Oversee local crew and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Create a fun and streamlined backstage environment for performers.
• Develop schedules for events 3-4 weeks in advance.
• Lead and coordinate the execution of live shows with a large cast.
• Maintain a positive attitude and problem-solve in high-pressure situations.

Requirements

• Prior experience in stage management or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent logistical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Mastery of time management and multitasking.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments.
• Physical ability to load and carry heavy equipment.
• Ability to work well on little to no sleep.
