About the position

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is seeking a Stage Manager for the Spring Musical Theatre Troupe Production of "Annie JR". This role involves overseeing a production with a cast of 30 students in grades 3-8, ensuring effective communication and organization throughout the rehearsal and performance process. The position is ideal for a young professional, college student, or recent graduate looking to gain experience in stage management within a community arts setting.

Responsibilities

  • Run the show and manage rehearsals.
  • Schedule rehearsals and take down blocking.
  • Communicate rehearsal and show information effectively with the cast and parents/guardians.
  • Set up and clean up the rehearsal space each week.
  • Take attendance at each rehearsal and sign students out with their authorized guardians.
  • Attend occasional production meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience with stage management, preferably with elementary and/or middle school students.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and positive attitude with a passion for working with students and the arts.
  • Comfortable working with students ages 8 - 13.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be available for most rehearsals and all tech and show dates.
