About the position

The Stamping Die Designer at QMC-EMI Holdings Corporation is responsible for designing and developing metal stamping tools for the mobility industry. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to ensure efficient production processes and high-quality outcomes. The designer will work in a fast-paced environment, transitioning designs from CAD to CNC production, and will be integral in meeting customer specifications and project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and manufacture new tooling for sheet metal parts using UG/NX and Autoform.
  • Review specifications such as GD&T, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Make engineering changes to existing designs and carry out Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on design concepts.
  • Work with the team during tool development to ensure parts meet customer requirements.
  • Report project status to management on a regular basis.
  • Assist other designers and staff in achieving quality products in time-sensitive situations.
  • Reverse engineer and update die designs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in designing stamping dies.
  • Proficient with UG/NX software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the metal stamping industry and industry practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3D design experience.
  • Experience with Autoform software.
