About the position

The Stamping Operator IV position at TE Connectivity involves operating high-speed stamping presses, ensuring quality and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires troubleshooting machinery issues, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety policies. This position is crucial for supporting production and meeting customer commitments in the automotive sector.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stamping press and assemble reels at standard production rate.
  • Perform quality checks per the quality inspection plan, including visual checks with a microscope.
  • Take specified measurements per print at required intervals using various measuring tools.
  • Document activities during the shift, including repair logs and IPCS.
  • Order raw metal and change stock when needed using Andon.
  • Make minor adjustments to the press, including lube system and air pressure.
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization of the work area, including removing scrap and emptying trash.
  • Retrieve components for re-reeling and operate re-reeler when applicable.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written English procedures and verbal instructions.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Vocational or technical training for a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to operate machinery and move between work zones.
  • Good communication skills and ability to multitask.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use various measuring devices.
  • 1-year prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
