About The Position

The Stand-Up Forklift Operator at DuBois Chemicals is responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including reach trucks and sit-down forklifts, to handle and move products within the warehouse. This role requires effective communication with team members and truck drivers, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality in warehousing operations. The operator will also be involved in loading and unloading trucks, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, and adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
• 1-2 years of experience operating a High Lift - Reach Truck required.
• 1-2 years of experience operating a Stand-Up Forklift required.
• 1-2 years of experience with warehouse order selection.
• Experience with warehouse management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics [D365] preferred.
• Ability to read and write load diagrams, shipping orders, and work instructions.
• Ability to operate electronic equipment, such as RF scanners or radios as assigned.
• Pass forklift driving exam (pre-offer).
• Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues.
• Effective communication skills and time management abilities.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts with various attachments and pallet jacks in compliance with safe operating procedures.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with other employees, supervisors, and customers.
• Demonstrate skilled capability in operating a Reach Truck.
• Follow verbal and written instructions proficiently.
• Unload and receive deliveries, ensuring proper quantities and quality of products.
• Place products securely in appropriate warehouse locations to prevent damage or misplacement.
• Retrieve and load customer products as directed on shipping documents.
• Ensure effective product rotation based on assigned lot codes or production dates.
• Implement proper food safety and warehouse sanitation practices.
• Participate in product counting, relocation, and inventory processes.
• Perform warehouse cleaning and equipment maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Comply with company policies and procedures for efficient warehouse operations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct oneself appropriately while representing the company.
• Store supplies and empty containers neatly.
• Perform general housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areas.
• Clean and store safety equipment for reuse.
• Report process and safety equipment issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Conduct proper forklift inspections and follow operating guidelines.
• Comply with all safety requirements and PPE requirements as per company procedures.
• Follow WHMIS, MSDS, and all other safety training requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
