About the position

The HVAC Maintenance Lead at Stanford Residential & Dining Enterprises is responsible for overseeing HVAC and plumbing maintenance tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards. This role involves leading a team of technicians, providing training, and coordinating contracted work while performing journey-level maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems. The position is essential and requires on-site work, with no telecommuting options available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the work of an HVAC technician and lead responsibilities including assisting and training other technicians.
  • Coordinate contracted work and perform HVAC systems-related functions as described in the Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code.
  • Inspect work for conformance with specifications and advise supervisors on work progress.
  • Estimate jobs, determine job scope, and prioritize work orders effectively.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing and HVAC systems, including boilers, heat exchangers, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Perform journey-level electrical work, including replacing switches and light fixtures.
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform preventative maintenance tasks on HVAC and electrical systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Journey level knowledge equivalent to four years in an apprentice program and three years of relevant work experience in plumbing, steam fitting, electrical systems, HVAC, or general maintenance trades.
  • Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and ability to troubleshoot plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with medium and low pressure steam systems.
  • Ability to read control schematics and building blueprints.
  • Knowledge of building codes in trade.
