Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and return visits.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel important and appreciated.
  • Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products to respond to inquiries and make suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates to promote teamwork and achieve company/store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections according to recipes and customer requests using proper equipment.
  • Tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to meet their needs.
  • Use kitchen equipment according to company guidelines, including refrigerators, freezers, and ovens.
  • Check product quality for freshness and review 'sell by' dates.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Previous comparable experience is desired.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
