Starbucks Barista

About the position

The Starbucks Barista at SpartanNash is responsible for preparing coffee shop beverages and food, operating the cash register, and providing excellent customer service. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a clean and safe environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee shop beverages according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Ensure food and beverages are handled safely and work is completed in a clean environment.
• Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
• Stock items and rotate coffee items and merchandise displays.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Notify the department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Comply with company policies regarding security and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Communicate company programs and in-store specials to customers.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines and food safety expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
