About the position

The Starr Associate - Engineering Tech position is part of the 2026 Starr Global Associate Program, a 12-month training initiative aimed at developing high-potential college graduates. The role involves supporting underwriting activities and learning various principles related to claims, credit, actuary, compliance, and reinsurance in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support countrywide underwriting activities
  • Process policy issuance and endorsements
  • Book premiums and maintain files
  • Assign policy numbers and create binders
  • Conduct business development research on potential companies
  • Prepare various reports as required
  • Follow up on information needed from brokers
  • Develop presentations and marketing materials
  • Perform other duties as directed by the department manager

Requirements

  • Internship/work experience during college years
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Databases
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • A self-starter and entrepreneurial mindset
