About the position

As a Starship integration engineer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in the design and integration of components for the Starship program. Your primary responsibility will be to drive design to fit into specialized, high-rate factory stations, ensuring that the integration of propulsion, avionics, and structural components is executed with precision. You will be tasked with setting up tool, material, and labor flow paths, while also integrating these components using novel techniques. This role requires a constant challenge to existing requirements, with the goal of eliminating unnecessary parts and enhancing the speed and reliability of the build process. In this position, you will be at the forefront of the V3 Starship project, which involves designing an advanced production line capable of producing various Starship variants, including tankers, fuel depots, and the Human Landing System (HLS) for NASA's Artemis program. You will work hands-on alongside technicians, specialists, and welders, ensuring that the most powerful second-stage launch vehicle is built to meet the ambitious goals of SpaceX. Your responsibilities will include executing design, build, qualification, and acceptance testing of subassemblies, systems, and tooling necessary to meet hardware deadlines. You will also develop a deep understanding of vehicle structures, avionics, and propulsion architecture, and how these systems operate as an integrated whole. Troubleshooting hardware issues in real-time and providing feedback to the appropriate teams will be essential to eliminate recurring problems. Collaboration with design, build, and systems engineering teams, as well as production leadership, will be key to ensuring the timely delivery of test-ready hardware.
