About the position
Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) Bus is hiring qualified Transit Operators for 40 hrs/wk and for fill in/part time for the winter season November 30, 2024 - April 13, 2025. Paid pre-season training starting on November 12, 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for a value centered, team-oriented professional interested in public service as well as interested in enjoying a vibrant Rocky Mountain ski resort lifestyle with world class skiing in Jackson Hole and Nordic skiing in Bridger Teton National Forest, as well as Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
Responsibilities
- Operation of a bus to transport and assist the general public along a fixed route.
- Transporting skiers, snowboarders, employees, and guests to and from the Town of Jackson and Teton Village.
- Transporting locally employed and visitors throughout Town.
- Fill-in shifts transporting commuters from Teton Valley Idaho and Star Valley Wyoming.
- Fill-in shifts serving vulnerable populations with ADA service.
- Operating an updated fleet of diesel powered buses, motor coaches, hybrid diesel/electric buses, and smaller gas powered shuttle buses.
- Performing electronic data/pass scanning on all buses.
Requirements
- Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement.
- 5 year driving record required with application.
- Ability to deal politely, effectively and responsibly with the public.
