About the position

The Start-Up and Commissioning Lead Engineer I at Blentech Corporation serves as the primary liaison and project coordinator between customers and internal teams after equipment shipment. This role is crucial for overseeing the startup and commissioning processes, ensuring effective communication, documentation, and support for clients during the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary contact and project coordinator between Blentech customers and the Blentech teams after equipment shipment.
  • Develop documentation to support Commissioning, Qualifications, and Validation, including protocol writing and execution.
  • Assist with field verification and the development of summary reports at client sites.
  • Work with internal teams (controls, process management, mechanical, sales, and parts) to provide necessary information and support to customers.
  • Coordinate with the Process Engineering Management team to schedule and facilitate startup and commissioning activities.
  • Manage administrative duties related to customer-required documents, forms, safety regulations, and site rules.
  • Create and share key engineering information with customers for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Prepare piping and instrumentation diagrams and arrangement drawings for projects as required.
  • Prepare change orders and proposals for equipment and services.
  • Leverage knowledge of PLC programming and electrical hardware to support automation and controls engineering.
  • Assist with onsite installation, start-up, and customer team training.
  • Travel to customer sites for training and start-up assistance.
  • Communicate design improvements to engineering teams for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience as a chemical, mechanical, or food science engineer with prior Start-up and Commissioning of Food Equipment.
