About the position

The State and Local Tax Financial Services Manager at PwC is responsible for helping clients navigate business issues related to state and local tax compliance, including business restructuring and the adoption of new tax laws. This role involves assessing clients' tax burdens and recommending solutions that align with their business objectives, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws. The manager will lead a team in transforming risk and compliance into a business advantage, focusing on various tax-related issues such as abandoned property, income tax, payroll tax, and indirect tax.

Responsibilities

• Help clients solve business issues related to state and local tax compliance.
• Assess clients' state and local tax burdens and recommend solutions.
• Align state tax plans with clients' business strategies.
• Manage issues related to abandoned and unclaimed property, income and franchise tax, payroll and employment tax, credits and incentives, and indirect tax.
• Develop new skills and resolve issues that prevent effective teamwork.
• Coach team members and encourage personal development.
• Analyze complex ideas and build meaningful recommendations.
• Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
• Develop a point of view on global trends and their impact on clients.
• Simplify complex messages and highlight key points.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field.
• CPA or other relevant tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive knowledge in partnership tax compliance and public accounting practices.
• Experience in preparing partnership tax forms, including K-1s, FAS 109, and FIN 48.
• Experience in audit defense and tax consulting.
