The Senior Associate position in the State and Local Tax (SALT) Financial Services practice at PwC involves assisting clients with business restructuring, tax law adoption, and local tax developments. Responsibilities

• Help clients solve business issues related to state and local tax compliance.
• Assess clients' state and local tax burdens and recommend solutions.
• Align state tax plans with clients' business strategies.
• Focus on issues related to abandoned and unclaimed property, income and franchise tax, payroll and employment tax, credits and incentives, and indirect tax.
• Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness and address development areas.
• Delegate tasks to others and coach them to deliver results.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and bring order to unstructured problems.
• Review work for quality, accuracy, and relevance.
• Communicate effectively and influence others in a structured manner.
• Build quality relationships and uphold the firm's code of ethics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax compliance or consulting.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Preferred: CPA certification or commitment to obtain CPA before promotion to Manager.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in partnership tax compliance and public accounting practices.
• Knowledge of preparation of partnership tax forms, including K-1s, FAS 109, and FIN 48.
• Experience in tax controversy and tax structuring.
• Ability to identify and address client needs and build solid relationships with clients.
