About the position

The State Income and Franchise Senior Manager at Deloitte is a strategic role focused on providing tax consulting solutions to clients in the investment management industry. This position involves managing client relationships, leading tax engagement teams, and leveraging Deloitte's extensive resources to deliver effective state tax and compliance solutions. The Senior Manager will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring client needs are met while also contributing to the growth and profitability of the firm.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various tax consulting/compliance engagements in the investment management arena.
• Identify client needs and leverage Deloitte's range of services and extensive resources to meet those needs and cross-sell among various lines of service.
• Act as a trusted business advisor to clients on issues including multistate tax planning, accounting for income taxes, restructuring, audit defense, and due diligence.
• Manage engagement profitability, billings to clients, and engagement team resources.
• Assist with drafting and presenting new proposals to new and existing clients.
• Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team.

Requirements

• 8+ years' experience in state income and franchise tax, with experience in the Investment Management industry.
• Proven ability to grow and manage a book of business and a solid reputation as a subject matter expert within state income and franchise tax.
• Demonstrated experience with state and local pass-through and corporate tax returns.
• Demonstrated experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• One of the following accreditations: Licensed CPA, Licensed attorney, or Enrolled Agent.
