About the position
The NCWorks Workforce Development Intern position is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the State Workforce Development system. Interns will assist clients with employment and training services, gaining exposure to various programs and services offered through NCWorks. This internship aims to develop skills in customer service, communication, and workforce development while exploring future employment opportunities within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with employment and training services, including assessments, job referrals, and training programs.
- Conduct interviews and input data related to client services.
- Interact with businesses to develop job orders and referrals.
- Gain cross-training in all services and programs offered through NCWorks.
- Work in various counties throughout the assigned prosperity zone.
Requirements
- Must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college, or technical institute in North Carolina.
- Must carry a 2.5 or greater overall grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Must be at least 18 years old by January 1, 2025.
- Must be continuing education in the fall following participation in the program.
- For law internships, must have completed at least one year of law school before the internship begins.
- Must be willing and able to work full-time for the entire 10-week internship.
