About the position

The Statewide Vehicle Acquisition Executive position is a key role within the Department of Central Management Services, focusing on the organization, planning, and execution of statewide vehicle acquisition programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating vehicle procurement, providing training to state agency vehicle coordinators, and ensuring compliance with state statutes and administrative rules. This position requires a high level of motivation and the ability to resolve complex issues independently, contributing to the efficient management of the state's vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Function within a team of administrators for the organization, planning, and execution of statewide Vehicle Acquisition Programs.
  • Provide training on efficient fleet management principles to state agency vehicle coordinators/vehicle buyers.
  • Advise on policy and procedures, interpreting applicable state statutes and administrative rules for vehicle purchase requests.
  • Plan and execute responsibilities related to the CMS Surplus Property iBid program for vehicle disposal.
  • Coordinate Auto Liability for drivers in the CMS fleet involved in auto accidents.
  • Create and interpret work products using Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Calendar.

Requirements

  • Completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of professional experience with an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) fleet system, BidBuy, or SAP.
  • Two years of professional experience managing vehicle data and billing information.
  • Two years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Vehicle Services programs and associated procurement standards.
  • Professional experience with accounting, budgeting, statistics, and creating spreadsheets.
