About the position

The Stationary Engineer in the Facilities Management Division (FMD), Region V/Central Plant performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems in State-owned and occupied buildings in accordance with FMD guidelines and manuals. Under the general direction of the Chief Engineer II, this position offers an opportunity for individuals to utilize their knowledge, skills, and experience to grow within the department. May be required to obtain EPA 608 and/or backflow certification upon appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems.
• Manage lighting, power, water, and water treatment systems in state-owned buildings.
• Follow FMD guidelines and manuals for mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and work environment.

Requirements

• Must have knowledge and experience in mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain EPA 608 and/or backflow certification upon appointment.
• Completion of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678.
