About the position

The Stationary Service Technician will provide comprehensive support and maintenance for the GenSure product line, including ProGen fuel cells, at customer remote locations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving breakdowns with minimal supervision. The technician will interact with customers, requiring strong technical skills and exceptional customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells within the stationary product at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain customer equipment at multiple locations.
• Assist in the development and execution of specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and other system-level documentation.
• Provide emergency support service to customers, with a response time of within 2 hours.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers regarding aftermarket support of fuel cells.
• Provide regular feedback to service specialists regarding fuel cell performance and field maintenance issues.
• Execute administrative duties and documentation, including incident reports, service logs, and inventory maintenance.
• Abide by and enforce safety procedures in the field or at customer sites.
• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three (3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Possess a valid driver license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis unassisted.
• Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and ability to use electrical test equipment.
• Certification or ability to become a certified forklift operator is required.
• General mechanical aptitude is required.
• Computer and software systems skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Dynamic interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creativity in solving technical problems.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Punctual and reliable.
