About the position

The Statistical and Research Analyst III position at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is responsible for coordinating the Eligibility Performance and Coaching process (EPCP). This role involves managing the EPCP database, interpreting and reporting data, and ensuring consistent implementation of processes statewide. The analyst will work closely with IT staff and internal partners to maintain data accuracy and identify areas for improvement, while also providing guidance and training to staff on procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the EPCP database and report data in a usable format for supervisors and managers.
  • Interpret, format, and report data accurately.
  • Document processes, guidelines, and procedures for statewide staff.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate implementation of processes across the agency.
  • Oversee the validation of data provided through the EPSM system.
  • Communicate with IT staff to ensure data accuracy and system logic implementation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to identify and correct errors.
  • Maintain written guidelines and procedures for the Eligibility Performance and Coaching Process.
  • Monitor statewide processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Update data for trend prediction and analysis.
  • Work with management to establish business needs and anticipate issues.
  • Stay informed about agency changes to conduct relevant data analysis.
  • Monitor trends in data and utilize appropriate tools for analysis and visualization.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist eligibility management and senior leadership with assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional experience in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Experience in management and leadership roles responsible for program outcomes.
  • Ability to create solutions for improved performance.

  • Experience using Power BI.
