About the position

The Statistical and Research Analyst III position is responsible for coordinating the Eligibility Performance and Coaching process (EPCP) within the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. This role involves managing the EPCP database, interpreting and reporting data, and ensuring consistent implementation of processes statewide. The analyst will also work on data trend prediction and analysis, collaborating with various stakeholders to improve program outcomes and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Coordinator for the Eligibility Performance and Coaching process (EPCP).
  • Manage the EPCP database and report data in a usable format for supervisors and managers.
  • Interpret, format, and report data accurately.
  • Document processes, guidelines, and procedures for statewide staff.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate implementation of processes statewide.
  • Oversee the validation of data provided through the EPSM system.
  • Communicate with IT staff to ensure data accuracy and system logic implementation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to identify and correct errors.
  • Maintain written guidelines and procedures for the EPCP.
  • Monitor statewide processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Update data for trend prediction and analysis.
  • Work with management to establish business needs for data utilization.
  • Stay informed about agency changes for relevant data analysis.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Assist eligibility management and senior leadership with assigned projects.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional experience in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Experience in management and leadership roles responsible for program outcomes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Power BI.
  • Experience working with IT development and support teams.
  • Knowledge of research design methods and data manipulation techniques.
  • Ability to predict trends based on data analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and present analytical reports.
