About the position

The Statistical and Research Analyst position at the University of South Carolina is designed to support the increasing demand for data management, coordination, and analysis within research projects. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of research data, maintaining the integrity of research projects, and performing data analyses of study variables. The analyst will collaborate with investigators, data engineers, and project statisticians to facilitate effective data collection and management.

Responsibilities

  • Run scripts in R software to process data for multiple NIH grant projects.
  • Monitor data files to confirm processing in R software and perform quality control checks.
  • Coordinate with research project personnel during weekly and monthly meetings to address data issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between research project personnel and the SDM core, reporting issues and changes in data.
  • Analyze research data and assist in preparing reports, presentations, and publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 or more years of experience in data management/analysis, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in data management or related field.
  • Experience with research projects.
  • Familiarity with data management software.
