About the position

The Statistician in Biostatistics at the University at Buffalo is a quantitative scientist responsible for providing statistical support to the Biostatistics Center. This role involves collaborating with senior statisticians, clinical data managers, and faculty to design and implement scientific studies, ensuring robust statistical planning and analysis across the university.

Responsibilities

• Study design and implementation
• Statistical planning
• Randomization plan development and execution
• Statistical programming
• Statistical analysis (basic and advanced)
• Computational and simulation support
• Execution of analysis plans
• Results reporting
• Contribute to the development and implementation of SOPs and templates
• Software development (e.g., R Shiny Apps)
• Training and management of research assistants

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, or related scientific field
• Two years of experience in the appropriate discipline

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, or related scientific field
• Knowledge of data management concepts
• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and related regulatory requirements
• Programming knowledge in R; knowledge in SAS, STATA, and Python is desirable
• Knowledge of statistical methods for observational data
• Strong interpersonal, organization, and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively work in a team setting
