About the position

IvyMax Academy is seeking a part-time Statistics Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in AP Statistics. The role involves preparing course materials, facilitating classroom discussions, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the learning experience for students. The teacher will work with small groups of students, focusing on building their confidence and understanding of statistical concepts.

Responsibilities

• In-depth knowledge of AP Statistics
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
• Prepare course materials, such as syllabus, homework assignments, and handouts
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students
• Select and obtain materials such as textbooks, with the help of center staff members and the management team
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching issues
• Positively reinforce student self-confidence and self-esteem
• Be organized and well-prepared for every lecture

Requirements

• 4-year undergraduate degree (BA, BS) or higher related to the subject
• 2+ years of direct teaching/tutoring experience
• Must have reliable transportation
• Available weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends
