About the position

BlueForce Inc. is seeking a Wargame Data Analyst to support HQ USAF Sponsored or Supported Wargaming at Joint Base Andrews, MD. The Wargame Data Analyst will be responsible for conducting activities that encompass the planning, execution, management, and analysis throughout all phases of HQ USAF wargames. This includes concept development, objective and analysis/assessment planning, game design, event planning, management, execution, and post-game analysis. The role offers an opportunity for remote work, which is mission-oriented, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements while ensuring that the objectives of the wargames are met effectively. In this position, the Wargame Data Analyst will assist in pregame, concurrent, and postgame analysis in accordance with the wargame design and analysis plan. The analyst will support the design of wargames tailored to meet a variety of purposes and objectives, ensuring that the wargames are relevant and effective in achieving their goals. The role requires analyzing, interpreting, and preparing briefings on operational concepts, military strategy, and doctrine as they pertain to wargaming design and objectives. Engaging with USAF and extra-USAF partners is crucial for recruiting participants and contributions to the Blue, Red, Adjudication, Assessment, and Control teams. The Wargame Data Analyst will prepare reports, talking papers, and related materials regarding the wargames, including briefings, documents, and presentations for senior AF and DoD leadership. Additionally, the analyst will support the development and tailoring of wargame scenarios and vignettes, building wargame-specific documents such as wargame orders, tasking directives, and calling messages. Maintaining a high level of subject-matter expertise for wargame support, participation, adjudication, facilitation, and analysis is essential. The analyst will also participate in mission-partner wargames and workshops as required to provide subject matter expertise and stay informed about activities in the military wargaming community. Furthermore, the analyst will accomplish AF Wargaming staff taskings and actions as required or directed, assist the Senior Data Analyst, execute modeling simulation systems and tools (e.g., Objectives Observation Tool) to support wargame execution, and provide tailored campaign modeling support to wargame efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of wargames to meet a variety of purposes and objectives.
  • Analyze, interpret, and prepare briefings on operational concepts, military strategy, and doctrine as they pertain to wargaming design and objectives.
  • Engage with USAF and extra-USAF partners to recruit participants and contributions to the Blue, Red, Adjudication, Assessment, and Control teams.
  • Prepare reports, talking papers, and related material regarding the wargames, including briefings, documents, and presentations to senior AF and DoD leadership.
  • Support the development and tailoring of wargame scenarios and vignettes.
  • Build wargame specific documents such as wargame orders, tasking directives, and calling messages.
  • Provide and maintain a high level of subject-matter expertise for wargame support, participation, adjudication, facilitation, and analysis.
  • Participate in mission-partner wargames and workshops as required to provide subject matter expertise and stay apprised of activities in the military wargaming community.
  • Accomplish AF Wargaming staff taskings and actions as required/directed.
  • Assist the Senior Data Analyst.
  • Execute modeling simulation systems and tools (e.g., Objectives Observation Tool) to support wargame execution.
  • Provide tailored campaign modeling support to wargame efforts.

Requirements

  • Top Secret / SCI Eligible
  • Graduate degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in modeling, simulations, or operations research analysis.
  • Experience developing wargame tools and in providing wargame or operational analysis required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
