About the position

NE Renewable Power, owned by Hartree Partners, operates 7 Biomass electric generating power stations in New England. We are hiring a Boiler Operator for our facility in Westminster, MA, starting in April. This role is crucial for the operation and maintenance of our biomass power plant, which supplies renewable energy to the region. Sprague, with over 150 years of energy operating experience, emphasizes a collaborative and customer-centric approach, valuing innovation, safety, integrity, and people.

Responsibilities

• Assist the shift Unit Supervisor in the operation of the biomass power plant.
• Report equipment problems that jeopardize plant operations or safety to the unit supervisor.
• Ensure that plant operating logs are kept current and inform management of equipment needing repair.
• Operate auxiliary equipment, including starting/stopping equipment and managing valves.
• Perform maintenance tasks as directed.
• Operate wood yard equipment and computer systems as needed.
• Clean designated work areas using appropriate tools and methods.
• Act as a team member and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts 2nd Class Fireman's License or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
