An area AISC Certified Steel Erector is seeking a Steel Estimator to add to their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the steel industry and familiarity with the AISC Standards. This position is crucial for the company as it aims to enhance its project estimation capabilities and ensure accurate bidding on structural steel projects. The Steel Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure that all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimates. The role requires a strong understanding of commercial projects and the ability to communicate effectively with major General Contractors in the Southeast. Connections with these contractors will be considered a significant advantage, as they can facilitate smoother project negotiations and enhance the company's reputation in the industry. The expectation is that the candidate will initially work on-site for a couple of days a week to integrate and train, with compensation provided for travel and lodging. After this initial training period, the position has the potential to become fully remote, allowing for greater flexibility in work arrangements. The Steel Estimator will also be expected to utilize software tools such as Bluebeam to assist in the estimation process. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and project management skills, including project planning, risk management, and time management, are essential for success in this role. The company offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000, along with great benefits, making this an attractive opportunity for qualified candidates.
